Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everybody! The guys and I decided that we needed to all go trick or treating together this year, you know that whole strength in numbers thing.

This year we are going as a bunch of girlscouts, of course this is Oz's idea.

Be on the lookout for 4 six foot dudes looking for candy or beer or cigarettes...

Random Things

First thing is the CD is now in the hands of a mastering engineer. We should have a final mastered copy by next week. And within the next week or 2 we will go into mass production of the CD. We are going to print up 1,000 CD's. The last batch we went through over 1,200 in 7 months of "I think we're evolving." And we think we can go through a 1,000 of the new one even quicker.

Second thing is Run Run our van is almost leak free again. We discovered 2 leaks this past weekend and the transmission was slipping REALLY bad. I had to start it in 2nd gear then slide it into drive to get home from Wichita Falls. We found the leak and fixed it and also added some leak stopper to our radiator to stop the water leak (I think that will work, but we will find out soon enough).

Thirds but not last another great Dallas band is throwing in the towel. South FM is announcing their last show this Saturday the 28th at the Curtain Club. If you do not have plans, plan on being there. We have known these guys ever since we have been on the scene and Paco has always been very kewl to us and everyone else. Paco, the singer, did say he was going to carry on, but this will be the last time to see the full band. Damn, music is such a beautiful bitch, it makes you feel love as its ripping your heart out...

Those are damn good times

Colin mentioned something to me the other day that always pops in and out of my mind, he said "You know Chris some of the best times I have are with this band and not always when we are on stage." And you know what, he is so right. Getting to meet all the kewl and different people and riding around in a black and white van through Texas is priceless. Here are some pics Cliff the great took just from this past Saturday. You can tell by the pics this was one helluva day.

First we rode motorcycles...Oz helped me get it running right, he is so smart...

Colin and I got scratched from riding the motorcycle...who said motorcycles are dangerous...

Then we played a show in Temple, this is Sean the bartender up on stage singing (or yelling) with me...

This is Keith rocking out with me, I love my buddy even if he gets upset when I ask him to drop me off at the Harley dealership...what are friends for...

Christian from the rock band Frolic and I sharing vocal duties...

See just one day and all that FINE entertainment and it didn't cost me a thing...well maybe my liver and lungs...

MUTHER F$%#$#

I am in such a $hitty F'ing mood. I guess I woke up on the wrong side of the bed or something, but I am just brewing with hate right now. I think maybe I have some sort of mental issues and need drugs to fix my problems. Am I right? Is it ok to be PISSED OFF and hate everything because you are having a bad day? F-you, F-you, F-you who's next...

Here I just wrote a song about it:

I don't really F'ing care
if I'm bald and got no hair
I need a cold beer that I won't share
cause sometimes life just ain't fair

F-you, F-you, F-you who's next
X-Men has been playing on FX
F-you, F-you, F-you who's next
I live in the metroplex

Ok so the chorus needs a little bit of work, I totally shouldn't have used the word next, it really doesn't rhyme well...

Don't worry as Big Colin always says, "I will get over it in the same pair of panties"...and I still don't know what that means...

Blogs are Back

Ok after some talks with the boys, I decided to bring back all the blogs. Like I said before I was just getting a little frustrated with them not getting updated. I think between Keith and I you will at least get a couple blogs a week. Big Colin should update about once a week and Oz about once every 3 months.

This past weekend we had a blast in Wichita Falls and we played a new club in Lake Dallas Saturday. We played to a slew of interesting people Saturday night. One lady around 45 or so decided to show her boobs several times to the audience. One very drunk younger lady decided to climb on stage and play the tambourine right in my ear totally off time and continued to tell me "I don't think I ammm onnn nnn timeeeee...., what you do yo thinkkkkk..." Thank the Lord I am a professional and can handle those situations. Then there was one couple that was dancing all crazy. The lady must have been a cheerleader in a past life with all the splits and high kicks. And at one point in time she fell down and the guy fell with her and they decided to just dry hump right there in the middle of the dance floor...nice...then at one point she knocked his cowboy hat off and everyone but me also saw his hair go with the hat and I missed it. Anyways it was one of those experiences I wouldn't trade for nothing...good times...good times...

WOW

I guess I pissed of Mr. Westyheimer by removing his blog:

"Oh, I see how it is. Your Royal Lord High-and-Mighty (Yet Still Bald as a Baby's Ass) Chris has decided what the fans of the greatest band in the world (that be monkeyshyne) has wanted. What the hell? I wouldn't take that crap...and I'm pissed you deleted my blog. Gone forever are "Touchdown Jesus" and "Operation Monkeyshyne", among others. Who the hell said you could delete my blog? And by doing so, deprive my adoring female friends their weekly dose of yours truly? Assclown. You and me are gonna have words. Answer your phone, pansy."

Kieth

Well sir I am not High-n-Mighty I just got tired of NO BLOGS...I mean the purpose of a blog is to write your thoughts and write them often. And I have been dissappointed because lately there hasn't been anything to read and I know if I am dissappointed I know other people out there are dissappointed too. Funny I guess it's true, don't know what you got till its gone...

Oh and Keith I guess it isn't too big a deal, I haven't heard anything from Colin or Oz?

Only One

Well instead of continuing my disappointment I went ahead and removed the other guy’s blogs. I know there are a lot of you out there that liked to read them, but I can't stand when they aren't updated, so instead of furthering my pain, I will just remove it. I will leave my blog up, of course, and will make sure I update it several times a week as I usually do. Just seems everyone else is just too busy. Colin is working now, Keith is going back to school, Oz is working nights and Cliff well...Plus the guys always had a tough time finding things to write about. I originally wanted the blogs to be a way that we could connect a little more with the people who enjoy our music and what we do. Plus I thought it would be kewl for people to get to know our personalities. We are one of the bands that you can actually approach and hang out with.

If you have a problem with this decision please let me know.

Even Alice in Chains

I was totally thrown back the other night at the Alice in Chains concert during a tribute film to Lane Staley. At one part of the video he says "Tonight guys you are really making our security work overtime right now" to an empty room. Sometimes as a musician you forget that everyone has to start somewhere and most of the time that is in an empty room. Most people who come to see us don't really realize how much we appreciate them coming to see us. We, as well as any band, feed off of that energy that the crowd gives us. We need that energy like a smack addict needs crack. Without it we might as well just stay home and play with ourselves...

I LOVE IT when people come out and dance, YELL, SCREAM, laugh, and just have a great time. That is what we are there for, to entertain you. If we aren't doing that we aren't doing our job.

Thanks to all of you who fill out rooms and make our security work overtime...
