Our Last Stand?!?!

I believe a few people have been speculating about the demise of monkeyshyne because of our latest CD title "Last Stand." I guess the joke has been kind of lost on most people who are not musicians. Most people don't know what a guitar stand looks like. If you look real closely on the front, back and inside of our CD, we have pictures of a beat up guitar stand. Yes we thought we were being very humorous at the time, but maybe now that I think about it, it wasn't so funny. Oh who am I kidding it was brilliant and I didn't even think of it. I also would be lieing if I didn't say that there is always a chance of any CD we put out being our last CD and "Last Stand" just kind of symbolised that in one bold statement. I think that if we put out another CD after this last one (and we plan too) we will call this one "We Lied..."

Also I just want to say "Thank You" to everyone who came out to the show this past Saturday night. Playing outdoors on that open stage made us feel huge. It was nice to look off the stage and see a big crowd of monkeyshyne fans. Playing music can be GREAT and shitty all at the same time. When you are on stage and people are enjoying what you do, it is GREAT. When you are in hot practice room trying to convince 3 other guys that you are right and they are wrong, it is really shitty. It is shows like this past Saturday that make the shitty times bearable.

Oh yah and one more thing, that picture the Keith posted on his blog is not a joke...well...I mean that the kewl model people asked Oz to sit in for a couple of pictures...wow...Oz you suck...beautifully...

I regret to inform you...

...that I will not be able to give up my post as Senior Upper Management. I spoke with the BOM, Board of Monkeys, and they stated that they would rather eat their poo than have a certain Keith Westenheimer run monkeyshyne inc. They pointed out how he ALREADY failed at providing material for the other band members to blog about (read Big Colin's blog, poor guy has no direction). This being minor only amplifies the horribly poopy job he would do on a greater scale.

All the hoards of monkeyshyne fans can now rest easy again. You will still get the quality of experience you have come to know and love from monkeyshyne. Also there are plenty of shows coming up for everyone to enjoy including a show this Saturday night at the Firewater Bar and Grill in Dallas with Josh Goode, The Opux Flux, Superstring and a modeling show. That's right a full blown, girls dressed up, type modeling show. Thankfully I booked this before my temporary stint as non upper management. Now I just have to figure out how to break it to McDonald's that we can't play their "Rockin' 2 Years Old Play Ground Extravaganza" that a certain Westenheimler booked early this week...

Colin please blog about your feelings this week, especially when a certain band member, with the initials of KM, forgets an entire verse of music on his bass guitar. And how since he only plays 5 string instead of six his job should be just a little easier than most...

And Keith I need you to go ahead and come in on Saturday and Sunday this weekend...

IMPORTANT!!!!

I, monkeyshyne senior upper management, have decided to resign as monkeyshyne upper management and because of this all shows are cancelled until informed otherwise. I have reached this decision after Keith's hurtful blog. What does he not think that I have feelings. Sure I may look kewl, ok I may look really kewl, but on the inside I do have a heart just like everyone else. Sure I may have forgotten to book a hotel room, but to be honest I wanted us to all share in the adventure of finding a hotel. And as far as requesting for everyone to update their blogs, that isn't for me, it is for all of our fans that enjoy reading about us and our lives everyday. I know that work can get boring and always having a monkeyshyne blog to read is like know that cup of coffee is going to be there in the morning.

I am sorry Keith, Colin or Oz if I have made you guys suffer, please feel free each and everyone of you to take over senior upper management. To be kind I made a list of things you will need to do throughout the week:

- Talk to the club bookers - Randy, Danny, Mike, Adam, Chandra, Doug, David, Alex, Janice, Tony and Bill. (don't worry I have numbers and the time of day to call for all of them)
- Balance the books every week. On Sundays after the weekend you need to take all the reciepts during the week and how much money we made and keep track of somehow (I have a spreadsheet you could use, but I am sure it is inferior).
- Update the monkeyshyne website every monday morning
- Do weekly maintanence of van - Usually isn't much unless a hose has busted or a fan has fallen of, or the bolts that hold the alternator snapped, or....you get the point, could be a little work, could be a lot
- Listening and picking out songs that the band might cover. Don't worry when you bring your list in everybody in the band will hate it, so don't put too much time into this one.
- Send out any posters, flyers or mail order CD's for the week. On average that has been about 1 or 2 a week. Unfortunately it takes the same amount of time for 1 as it does for 10, so you are looking at about 30 minutes on this one because you have to buy the envelopes, fullfil the order then drop it of at the Post Office.

Those are all the things I can think of at the moment, but I am sure others will pop up. The good thing is the above things only take anywhere from 8 to 12 hours a week, so between the 3 of you, you should be able to get it done in no time.

Oh and you might want to get on that booking thing, I would hate to miss anymore shows than we already have too...

Another Message From Senior Upper Management

Attention

Senior Upper Management would like to apologize for Chris the senior most upper manager for not posting this week. After berating his underlings last week he has gone and done exactly what he asked them not to do (excluding Oz...) But after fixing the van on a Sunday morning from the leaking HOT HOT HOT hose I think that upper management will give him a pass this week for not blogging. Plus upper management believes that Keith and Colin have done a good job of describing the details of last weekend except for that whole not having a hotel room incident. Upper management believes that they are not always responsible for doing EVERTYHING. Upper management believes that Keith, Colin or Oz could have stepped up and shown some initiative and booked hotel rooms ahead of time. That initiative would have shown senior upper management that one of them would be ready for mid level management.

FYI this Sunday is Oz's Birthday so how about all weekend we make sure he stays full of candy and shots. He prefers Peanut M&M's, red twizler's and Jaegar Bombs...
